This is important, because if you use weapons that are beyond your ability you are likely to wear them down quickly, if not destroy them entirely. As I only played for fifteen minutes I only got myself to third level so only got three skills. As usual I played as a warrior. Hopefully I there is an option to make the resolution higher. Not sure if there is one as I did not have much time to explore cost.
